- Steve Dupuis 4/04/2020Newly renovated rooms and a great location for anyone looking to be close to the action. Friendly staff and very clean. A great value for such nice accommodations. If you are looking to stay in Galway and think you might want to stay an extra night be sure to book ahead as rooms fill up quickly, especially on the weekends. - CBHOH 6/06/2022Exceeded expectations The hotel was very clean, comfortable and a fantastic location for walking around the city and waterfront. I enjoyed the tea/coffee service in the room.
The Queen Street restaurant was delicious surprise. Excellent food, and for the high quality, prices were comparable with more casual food around town. The staff were very efficient, attentive and friendly .I hope to visit again. Walking distance to what feels like an endless amount of shops, restaurants, and activities. Rooms are clean, semi-modern, and well equipped. No fridge in basic rooms though.
The rooms are also pretty small, definitely on the more compact sideread moreread less - Mairead O 11/25/2021Enjoyable stay My husband and I visited the Victoria Hotel in mid November. I booked a double room with breakfast included. The room was on the smaller side than some hotel rooms I have stayed in but none the less it ticked all the boxes. It was clean and comfortable and more importantly the bed was comfortable. We had no complaints about noise from the street or internally either. The breakfast was lovely and cooked freshly upon ordering. The hotel bar is so nice and a must visit. The decor is fabulous and so is the food and the staff are very friendly too. The location is excellent with it being just off Eyre Square, which makes it easily accessible to get to the Christmas Market and onto Shop street. We were both very impressed with the hotels refurbishment and would highly recommend it to friends and family. As with most hotels in Galway there is no onsite parking, however, there are some carparks nearby within walking distance of the hotel where you can safely park for the duration of your stay. As you are staying with the hotel it will be worth enquiring with them for a discount at the car park upon booking.read moreread lesskmacginty 6/14/2022Jewel in the heart of Galway city From the moment we arrived at the Victoria, we were uplifted by the warmth of the reception we received in this gem of a hotel. Just off Eyre Square, a two minute amble from Ceannt Station, this hotel hardly could be better located. Tired after an eventful trip by bus and rail (don't ask) from Dublin, we decided to dine at the hotel's own Queen Street gastro bar. Mary has the crusted bass and I went for the Queen Stack burger. Both were splendid and decent value too. Even more impressive was the friendliness and efficiency of Paddy and the team. The room, No 306, was spotless and comfortable and even boasted an Espresso machine. Breakfast the next morning was hearty, covering all bases from fresh croissants to a substantial fry, setting us up perfectly for an eventful day on the Aran Islands (shuttle bus to Connemara Aerodrome stops right outside the front door). Then back for a night to remember in Galway's Latin Quarter ... even on a Monday the place was buzzing. For sure, we'll be back toGalway and The Victoria. The only strange thing that i'd never experienced before was at the breakfast.
When we asked for coffee - we both drink coffee, 99% of the time we would get a pot of coffee brought to the table. Here at this hotel, we were given a cup of boiling water each, with 2 sachets of instant dried coffee. This is the little coffee packet you would find next to your kettle in the room.
To get a proper cup, we were told we needed to pay 3 euro per cup. As bridesmaid, the staff were most helpful in helping me organise the hen from bookings, to best value offers, complementary room upgrade, to suggestions for after dinner. Their communication with me was so prompt and helpful.
From the minute we stepped inside the door of this beautiful trendy hotel we felt most welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I cannot praise highly enough the staff of the hotel, especially David, Kat, Kristen, Lisa, Matthew and their talented head chef for surpassing our high expectations and giving us the best stay ever.
Kat on reception checked us in promptly , we got complementary car parking in Q Park and proceeded to our quiet, spacious, comfortable room. The decor of the room was cool and modern and pristine clean.
David met the bride to be and I and showed us to where our party was going to be. The newly renovated bar/ restaurant was just beautiful, decorated in art deco style. He ensured from start to finish that all our requirements were met and really couldn't do enough for us.
Kristen decorated and set up our party space with the decorations/ goody bags etc I had brought and did an amazing job!! This was a huge help to me as I got to spend the afternoon with the bride to be instead of tackling decorating!
Our 3 course meal was unreal and I cannot praise the head chef highly enough for his high standard of food and presentation. Everything was delicious. The menu was so varied, plenty choice and the food was divine, presented beautifully and enjoyed by all 29 of the hen party. 100% to this amazing chef and his team. What was most noted and hughly appreciated was that we had a 2 - 2 and a quarter hour time frame in which to have dinner before a pub reservation in town. David and the head chef and waiting staff had our orders taken, and each course was adequately spread out within our time frame ensuring we weren't under pressure or left rushing to our next stop.
Our tables were waited on with such attention and we were never short of wine or drinks. Their cocktails are amazing also.
The party space we were in was perfect for our Hen Party, the interiors were just fab. An elegant, sophisticated space for an event.

Such a simple and basic thing to provide. When we checked in the receptionist told us they had taken note that 1 guest needed a gluten free breakfast so why did the fail to provide?
