Staff we're excellent and very friendly and helpful. It had a great bar, lovely menu good value food and a complimentary cocktail on arrival at the hotel. Only thing about the hotel was that there was no Car Park and you'd to pay for the Parking which was a bit Irish and the rooms where small. Other than that I couldn't fault ot. Moreread moreread less
- lisagD9341ZQ 9/22/2022Impressive upscale hotel, stellar gastro pub I've traveled Europe and the UK quite a lot and stayed in many hotels. Because I always give feedback on social media and in travel groups, I don't hesitate to be completely honest. Bad reviews travel fast; smart hotels don't forget that.
I've never recommended a hotel more highly than The Victoria. It's pricey but you're paying for a posh hotel in a prime location. For the time I booked, it was the best price for all hotels available near the city centre. At the moment, travel is eye-wateringly expensive pretty much everywhere. It's literally the price of traveling. I book near sites I want to see to avoid the price and hassle of transport. You get what you pay for.
This hotel radiates class. It positively gleams. Located around the corner from the train station and on Eyre Square, it couldn't be more convenient. Beds are comfy, housekeeping does a fantastic job, and there are loads of amenities.
The Victoria has a gastro pub so gobsmackingly good I recommend it to anyone not staying in the hotel, as well. The service and food are stellar.
I have nothing bad to say about The Victoria. Believe me, if I had anything negative I'd do so very loudly! But when you find a great place you want people to know about it. And this is a great place - chef's kiss.
Moreread moreread lessJoe M 10/19/2021A Gem in the City of the Tribes We stayed here recently for 3 nights and we would rate it as very good to excellent. Location is just off Eyre Square and most city attractions are within walking distance. Parking is available at nearby car park which may be complementary depending on what deal you made on your booking. The hotel may be a bit more expensive than some rivals but we feel it was worth it.
The hotel appeared to be very well maintained and plenty of Covid precautions available, although it was a pity that the hand gel dispenser at the main door did not work at any time over the 3 days. First impressions!!.
Staff were excellent and most courteous, from the housekeeping lady that allowed me jump the Que for the lift when I was bringing in the luggage to the reception staff that sorted out my parking.
The room was spotlessly clean and very well presented, although we both got a bit of a stale air smell when we entered the room as if it had not been opened up for a few days. Maybe good in these Covid times but again First Impressions.
The room was serviced each day with fresh towels and a general clean up.
Breakfast was table service and excellent both in variety and quality as well as quantity. They must have very good kitchen staff because we ate in the hotel for lunch one day and each night also and the fare was excellent. Same menu each night but there was enough for us to sample a variety of dishes.
So overall a big thumbs up to the establishment and if we were visiting the City of Tribes again, we would have no hesitation in staying here again.read moreread less675verew 12/19/2021Great! - jillianb587 10/17/2021Incredible Hotel in Galway City Just home from the most amazing weekend in Galway for my best friends Hen Party. As bridesmaid, the staff were most helpful in helping me organise the hen from bookings, to best value offers, complementary room upgrade, to suggestions for after dinner. Their communication with me was so prompt and helpful.
From the minute we stepped inside the door of this beautiful trendy hotel we felt most welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I cannot praise highly enough the staff of the hotel, especially David, Kat, Kristen, Lisa, Matthew and their talented head chef for surpassing our high expectations and giving us the best stay ever.
Kat on reception checked us in promptly , we got complementary car parking in Q Park and proceeded to our quiet, spacious, comfortable room. The decor of the room was cool and modern and pristine clean.
David met the bride to be and I and showed us to where our party was going to be. The newly renovated bar/ restaurant was just beautiful, decorated in art deco style. He ensured from start to finish that all our requirements were met and really couldn't do enough for us.
Kristen decorated and set up our party space with the decorations/ goody bags etc I had brought and did an amazing job!! This was a huge help to me as I got to spend the afternoon with the bride to be instead of tackling decorating!
Our 3 course meal was unreal and I cannot praise the head chef highly enough for his high standard of food and presentation. Everything was delicious. The menu was so varied, plenty choice and the food was divine, presented beautifully and enjoyed by all 29 of the hen party. 100% to this amazing chef and his team. What was most noted and hughly appreciated was that we had a 2 - 2 and a quarter hour time frame in which to have dinner before a pub reservation in town. David and the head chef and waiting staff had our orders taken, and each course was adequately spread out within our time frame ensuring we weren't under pressure or left rushing to our next stop.
Our tables were waited on with such attention and we were never short of wine or drinks. Their cocktails are amazing also.
The party space we were in was perfect for our Hen Party, the interiors were just fab. An elegant, sophisticated space for an event.
