Great location very central but quietly hidden away from hustle and bustle of Eyre Square....... Spotless clean....... bathrooms could do with updating otherwise everything perfect .
Cocktail Bar very pleasant ....Breakfast top class .
2 minute walk to train station and all amenitiesread moreread lessjpotte805519 9/22/2022Great Location The hotel is in a good location with a short walk to the touristy areas. It is very walkable to many highlighted restaurants and pubs. It is easy to walk over the bridge to a little quieter area for great food. The recommended parking lot was a little awkward but easy enough considering parking is limited in this area. The hotel gave us good directions on how to use the parking “pass”.read moreread lesselanskid 4/13/2022Lovely stay Lovely pizza for dinner and very friendly and helpful waitress in the very cool Queen St restaurant. The staff were super friendly. Our family room had 2 single beds and 1 double. Nice spacious and clean room. The bathroom had a wonderful walk in shower. There was a good variety at breakfast, cereals and pastries etc were self service and a menu available for hot food. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the service was wonderful. The hotel is a little dated in general but I understand that renovations are in the pipeline. I would most definitely return.read moreread lessDean C 6/10/2021Wonderful welcome Everything is great. Lovely room and welcome. We got here 3 hours early but we got us into our room 15 mins after we arrived and the gent on the desk offered great advice and was very helpful. We waited in the bar and got drinks and eggs Florentine for breakfast. That was the only downside. The portion was tiny but in fairness tasted great. Not good value for money. All in all the staff are great and specially our server in the restaurant. I know it's rough times for everyone in hospitality at the moment having just reopened but you're doing a great job. Hats off.

We only had breakfast on the mornings we were there and we found them delicious and were served piping hot. I stayed with my 15-year-old granddaughter for two nights. I loved its accessibility to the train, first of all. We had a brilliant deal for those over 55 staying for 2 nights with 2 breakfasts and 2 full, delicious dinners. Our waitress, Dearbhla, became our guide and best pal. She found out we had come from Kilkee and brought out the lovely cook, Celine, to meet us because she hailed from there. Dearblha went out of her way to get to know us and made a list of all the shops and places to get the things we were after. Celine's cuisine was delicious and beautifully arranged. The girl at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, was also very accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. I will recommend it to all I know who visit Galway in the future and will return myself. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I only wish I had taken a a picture of Dearbhla and Celine. Cheers! Moreread moreread lessjkoch833456 1/01/1970Galway - Always My Pleasure Nice hotel, right in the center of Galway, in Art Deco style. We booked breakfast included. After a week's stay we can really recommend any type of breakfast, whether it's a full Irish breakfast or the mini Irish breakfast, even the vegetarian and vegan options are delicious. But you are not tied to the menu, personal preferences are just as well fulfilled. The room, facilities and cleanliness were as expected. - Joe M 10/19/2021A Gem in the City of the Tribes We stayed here recently for 3 nights and we would rate it as very good to excellent. Location is just off Eyre Square and most city attractions are within walking distance. Parking is available at nearby car park which may be complementary depending on what deal you made on your booking. The hotel may be a bit more expensive than some rivals but we feel it was worth it.
The hotel appeared to be very well maintained and plenty of Covid precautions available, although it was a pity that the hand gel dispenser at the main door did not work at any time over the 3 days. First impressions!!.
Staff were excellent and most courteous, from the housekeeping lady that allowed me jump the Que for the lift when I was bringing in the luggage to the reception staff that sorted out my parking.
The room was spotlessly clean and very well presented, although we both got a bit of a stale air smell when we entered the room as if it had not been opened up for a few days. Maybe good in these Covid times but again First Impressions.
The room was serviced each day with fresh towels and a general clean up.
Breakfast was table service and excellent both in variety and quality as well as quantity. They must have very good kitchen staff because we ate in the hotel for lunch one day and each night also and the fare was excellent. Same menu each night but there was enough for us to sample a variety of dishes.
So overall a big thumbs up to the establishment and if we were visiting the City of Tribes again, we would have no hesitation in staying here again.read moreread lessOrla R 2/19/2023Great staff lovely hotel with literally the best staff and nice bar with smoking area. in walking distance to all of galway with loads of shops and bars but view from room window wasnt great but overall would definitely recommend Moreread moreread lessAudrey Alcindor 4/04/2019Hotel très sympa et très bien placé chambre propre et spacieuse accueil très chaleureux personnel à l'écouteJe vous le recommande vivement !read moreread less - irenem41 11/14/2021Girls break Fabulous hotel in Galway and the staff very friendly, wide selection of food and drinks and close to Christmas market and shops, would highly recommend the Victoria hotel, for family, groups or business, read moreread lessTzviya Levin Rifkind 4/04/2017Nice and clean. Lovely extensive breakfast with so much food and choice, we left stuffed so we weren't hungry all day. Dinner the evening before was pretty tasty. Victoria is a city hotel stuck down in a tight spot but very close to Eyre Square, and all the centre of activities in the city, and its staff and workers are all very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom wasn't huge but the beds were comfortable, having a bath and a shower in the spacious bathroom was wonderful, loads of hot water and all you could need. The decor is tasteful, everything worked. The window was pretty dirty but as it's mid-winter and it was dark when we got in, following a hospital appointment, we pulled the very heavy curtains and slept very well. Great location for doing Galway City on foot and leaving the car behind, as Galway city is NOT recommended for a visitor to bring a car into.
