Room was perfect location couldn’t of been better. Staff went absolutely out of there way to make sure we were looked after. Hats off to chef Ben his menu is incredible honestly the best food we have ever eaten. We had dinner the first night and decided to cancel a booking we had for the second night just so we could try more of Bens dishes. We can’t wait to return in august. Also hats off to manager David for running such a great team. It’s Not very often you see that anymore. Even the security doorman was so friendly ensuring we got a nice table out the front when it became available. Thanks again guys. See you soon.

Lovely room and welcome. We got here 3 hours early but we got us into our room 15 mins after we arrived and the gent on the desk offered great advice and was very helpful. We waited in the bar and got drinks and eggs Florentine for breakfast. That was the only downside. The portion was tiny but in fairness tasted great. Not good value for money. All in all the staff are great and specially our server in the restaurant. I know it's rough times for everyone in hospitality at the moment having just reopened but you're doing a great job. Hats off.

The reception gent was excellent - helpful , efficient and experienced . He helped us with our bags , gave directions to the free parking around the corner and answered our questions . The room was excellent and a great location for Eyre square and the City .The breakfast was good quality , efficient and tasty .We stayed here to catch the shuttle bus to Rossaveal ferry terminal to go across to the Aran islands - and it was perfect for that purpose . The pick up point is 10m up the road from the front doors ! We would have left our car in Q park for the four extra days we were away , to make use of the really good discounted rate available after the one night complimentary parking - but that rate is only accessible for 3 days , so we parked elsewhere.( I might have missed that info on the website , but If it isn’t there , it might be useful to add .) overall a great stay . They also validated parking so that we were able to park our car for free at the QPark just a block away.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the train station and loads of restaurants and bars. It was quiet and comfortable, and hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed with my 15-year-old granddaughter for two nights. I loved its accessibility to the train, first of all. We had a brilliant deal for those over 55 staying for 2 nights with 2 breakfasts and 2 full, delicious dinners. Our waitress, Dearbhla, became our guide and best pal. She found out we had come from Kilkee and brought out the lovely cook, Celine, to meet us because she hailed from there. Dearblha went out of her way to get to know us and made a list of all the shops and places to get the things we were after. Celine's cuisine was delicious and beautifully arranged. The girl at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, was also very accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. I will recommend it to all I know who visit Galway in the future and will return myself. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I only wish I had taken a a picture of Dearbhla and Celine. Cheers! Lovely extensive breakfast with so much food and choice, we left stuffed so we weren't hungry all day. Dinner the evening before was pretty tasty. Victoria is a city hotel stuck down in a tight spot but very close to Eyre Square, and all the centre of activities in the city, and its staff and workers are all very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom wasn't huge but the beds were comfortable, having a bath and a shower in the spacious bathroom was wonderful, loads of hot water and all you could need. The decor is tasteful, everything worked. The window was pretty dirty but as it's mid-winter and it was dark when we got in, following a hospital appointment, we pulled the very heavy curtains and slept very well. Great location for doing Galway City on foot and leaving the car behind, as Galway city is NOT recommended for a visitor to bring a car into. Thank you Victoria Hotel, we enjoyed your hospitality.read moreread less
