We always stay at the Victoria Hotel. The Reception and Bar staff are really welcoming and the room service is fantastic. Location is great, 5 minutes walk to bus/rail station, right beside Eyre square. If it's a city break, with plenty of live music and good food nearby, the Victoria Hotel in Galway, with lovely new lounge bar, is the place to stay. The staff within the hotel are friendly and the rooms were clean and beds comfy. Food from the bar was amazing as wore the coctails, they lost a star cause of the bill system and kept getting orders mixed up and tried to charge for drinks we didn't order, this may be a staff communication issue but it was the only downfall.read moreread less
- ebG6347MS 9/28/2021Victoria Hotel - Excellent service! Myself and my friend recently stayed for two nights at the Victoria Hotel - Galway. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly receptionist. We had a brought a bottle of prosecco with us to have as a celebration in our room. The receiptionist directed us to the warm and friendly front of house staff (Dearbhla), who kindly opened the bottle for us and provided us with an ice bucket to chill. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was incredible!! We both got the sea bass which was superb, along with the creamy sauce and chorizo. The hotel rooms were very clean and if we required anything else (such as an iron/ironing board), we were seen to immediately. Throughout the evening and during our stay the staff were very attentive and friendly. - ClarkstonMIElliott 9/24/2022Good Place to Stay in Galway The rooms were very nice and well located to shops and restaurants. Would have been nice to have in room refrigerators and better access to ice. While not the fault of the hotel, a nearby business's alarms were beeping constantly throughout our stay and was extremely annoying. However, the hotel accommodated for this by providing a fan which provided some white noise so it wasn't bad sleeping. I booked a double room with breakfast included. The room was on the smaller side than some hotel rooms I have stayed in but none the less it ticked all the boxes. It was clean and comfortable and more importantly the bed was comfortable. We had no complaints about noise from the street or internally either. The breakfast was lovely and cooked freshly upon ordering. The hotel bar is so nice and a must visit. The decor is fabulous and so is the food and the staff are very friendly too. The location is excellent with it being just off Eyre Square, which makes it easily accessible to get to the Christmas Market and onto Shop street. We were both very impressed with the hotels refurbishment and would highly recommend it to friends and family. As with most hotels in Galway there is no onsite parking, however, there are some carparks nearby within walking distance of the hotel where you can safely park for the duration of your stay.
