The reception gent was excellent - helpful , efficient and experienced . He helped us with our bags , gave directions to the free parking around the corner and answered our questions . The room was excellent and a great location for Eyre square and the City .The breakfast was good quality , efficient and tasty .We stayed here to catch the shuttle bus to Rossaveal ferry terminal to go across to the Aran islands - and it was perfect for that purpose . The pick up point is 10m up the road from the front doors ! We would have left our car in Q park for the four extra days we were away , to make use of the really good discounted rate available after the one night complimentary parking - but that rate is only accessible for 3 days , so we parked elsewhere.( I might have missed that info on the website , but If it isn’t there , it might be useful to add .) overall a great stay . Just off Eyre Square, a two minute amble from Ceannt Station, this hotel hardly could be better located. Tired after an eventful trip by bus and rail (don't ask) from Dublin, we decided to dine at the hotel's own Queen Street gastro bar. Mary has the crusted bass and I went for the Queen Stack burger. Both were splendid and decent value too. Even more impressive was the friendliness and efficiency of Paddy and the team. The room, No 306, was spotless and comfortable and even boasted an Espresso machine. Breakfast the next morning was hearty, covering all bases from fresh croissants to a substantial fry, setting us up perfectly for an eventful day on the Aran Islands (shuttle bus to Connemara Aerodrome stops right outside the front door). Then back for a night to remember in Galway's Latin Quarter ... even on a Monday the place was buzzing. For sure, we'll be back toGalway and The Victoria. Moreread moreread less

Because I always give feedback on social media and in travel groups, I don't hesitate to be completely honest. Bad reviews travel fast; smart hotels don't forget that.
I've never recommended a hotel more highly than The Victoria. It's pricey but you're paying for a posh hotel in a prime location. For the time I booked, it was the best price for all hotels available near the city centre. At the moment, travel is eye-wateringly expensive pretty much everywhere. It's literally the price of traveling. I book near sites I want to see to avoid the price and hassle of transport. You get what you pay for.
This hotel radiates class. It positively gleams. Located around the corner from the train station and on Eyre Square, it couldn't be more convenient. Beds are comfy, housekeeping does a fantastic job, and there are loads of amenities.
The Victoria has a gastro pub so gobsmackingly good I recommend it to anyone not staying in the hotel, as well. The service and food are stellar.
I have nothing bad to say about The Victoria. Believe me, if I had anything negative I'd do so very loudly! But when you find a great place you want people to know about it. And this is a great place - chef's kiss.
