Would have been nice to have in room refrigerators and better access to ice. While not the fault of the hotel, a nearby business's alarms were beeping constantly throughout our stay and was extremely annoying. However, the hotel accommodated for this by providing a fan which provided some white noise so it wasn't bad sleeping. Moreread moreread less
- rcasey436898 2/02/2023Great hotel in prime Galway position Great hotel ideally situated for visiting this vibrant city with friendly and helpful staff, my only point preventing a five star rating is the somewhat unimaginative ‘continental’ breakfast, the bar meals were very good.read moreread lessD5309KAjenniferh 8/19/2021Fantastic experience Me, my daughter and my friend had booked an evening meal in Victoria Hotel off Eyre Square a few nights ago and I'm still raving about the warm welcome and the delicious food. We ate in The Queens Street restaurant within The Victoria Hotel on the first night and was very pleased with the cocktails and food, delicious food, generous helpings, well presented.
So much so that we ate in the second night too, but still no room left to try the chocolate brownie !Breakfast, great choice also.
Staff very pleasant especially the lovely Dervla who even captured on camera us in our "costumes " the first night, hen as a "box of crayons" and chicks as 7 individual coloured crayons!
All the staff were lovely, friendly, polite and Sarah was our waitress who also did an amazing job!
The hotel is amazing, they have done a grand job of renovations, it's clean, spacious and very close to everywhere.

The poor reviews and photos seem to have been from before the renovations so if you’re looking at traveller photos, look at the date as only the newer photos really apply.
The staff in the hotel are really friendly and we had no issues at all during our stay.
Our room was spotless and the only thing I’d change is the chance to cool it down with air conditioning as it was a little hot at night even with the window open.
The hotel is perfectly located just off Eyre Square. It’s not noisy at night considering how close it is to the square.
We dined 1 of the evenings in the bar and the food was fantastic. It was a nice atmosphere in the bar with all staff adhering to Covid guidelines etc. It was table service only for drinks but the staff were very efficient and we didn’t go without once
Breakfast was a very nice on both mornings. Had to book a time slot but had no issue getting a time we wanted
Just a tip. We priced our stay on Booking .com and phoned up the Victoria to see could they match it. Not only could they offer a better rate, they added breakfast and free parking (our parking bill was €37 for the weekend) so we got a great deal by booking direct. Parking is in Hynes yard about 200m down the road.

Rooms are absolutely fabulous, booked a twin and got a double and single bed. Incredibly comfortable beds and loved the walk in shower, only thing was the frosted bathroom door doesn't give much privacy. The reception gent was excellent - helpful , efficient and experienced . He helped us with our bags , gave directions to the free parking around the corner and answered our questions . The room was excellent and a great location for Eyre square and the City .The breakfast was good quality , efficient and tasty .We stayed here to catch the shuttle bus to Rossaveal ferry terminal to go across to the Aran islands - and it was perfect for that purpose . The pick up point is 10m up the road from the front doors ! We would have left our car in Q park for the four extra days we were away , to make use of the really good discounted rate available after the one night complimentary parking - but that rate is only accessible for 3 days , so we parked elsewhere.( I might have missed that info on the website , but If it isn’t there , it might be useful to add .) overall a great stay .
