Special mention to Dervla O’C for sharing a vast amount of recommendations of places to visit and her absolutely fantastic personality and fun, also to Max for singing to us whilst serving our drinks and to the beautiful, gentle and kind Roseanna who speaks such great English as her second language. The hotel is in a great location, close to the train station and loads of restaurants and bars. It was quiet and comfortable, and hotel staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaints are relatively cosmetic: the room decor was a bit dull/outdated and didn't reflect the boutique aesthetic. The bathroom door was heavy glass and didn't afford much privacy. Will return whenever in Galway. I stayed with my 15-year-old granddaughter for two nights. I loved its accessibility to the train, first of all. We had a brilliant deal for those over 55 staying for 2 nights with 2 breakfasts and 2 full, delicious dinners. Our waitress, Dearbhla, became our guide and best pal. She found out we had come from Kilkee and brought out the lovely cook, Celine, to meet us because she hailed from there. Dearblha went out of her way to get to know us and made a list of all the shops and places to get the things we were after. Celine's cuisine was delicious and beautifully arranged. The girl at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, was also very accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. I will recommend it to all I know who visit Galway in the future and will return myself. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I only wish I had taken a a picture of Dearbhla and Celine. Cheers! Moreread moreread lessE B 10/04/2021Myself and my friend recently stayed for two nights at the Victoria Hotel - Galway. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly receptionist. We had a brought a bottle of prosecco with us to have as a celebration in our room. The receiptionist directed us to the warm and friendly front of house staff (Dearbhla), who kindly opened the bottle for us and provided us with an ice bucket to chill. We ate in the restaurant that evening and the food was incredible!! We both got the sea bass which was superb, along with the creamy sauce and chorizo. The hotel rooms were very clean and if we required anything else (such as an iron/ironing board), we were seen to immediately. Throughout the evening and during our stay the staff were very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel!read moreread less
